Special EventsFlowing on the River of Change: Life is always changing: we are always changing. We live in a river of change, and a river of change lives within us. For several years at MMP, we have been exploring spiritual transition and transformation. As the culture around us is in transition, each of us is in transition. The future we had envisioned for our own lives is drifting with great speed every night when we turn on the evening news. To be able to float on the river of change, we may need to explore our ideas and images of the Sacred.
Our speaker for the day will be Dr. Jennie Knight. Through interviews with women from Mary and Martha's Place she discovered a particularly feminist form of mysticism that results from examining one's images of God, of self, and of other people. As people move through images of the divine they come closer to a mystical spirituality of divine presence within themselves and all of creation. Our workshop is designed to explore and expand our ideas of the Holy through ritual, music, images, silence and interactive small groups. Saturday, February 25th, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm Box lunch sign up at check-in: Cost - $10

"Thank you to Mary and Martha’s Place for bringing ritual back into my life." "MMP is the living water. It is one of the border places. It has enabled me to claim my place in the body of Christ - a place much larger than I had previously experienced or imagined it to be. For this I am eternally grateful!" "Thank you so much for providing this sharing sanctuary!! Many summer Solstices spent under the trees in the Beech Grove nourished my Celtic roots."
